OUR HISTORY OF SKYDIVING AND WHERE DID IT ALL BEGIN?
Skydiving is not just an activity, but an integral part of our family’s life that has been cherished for more than five decades now. The exhilarating feeling of freefalling from a plane, soaring high in the sky, and eventually landing safely on the ground has given us an unmatchable thrill that we can’t get elsewhere. Our love for skydiving goes beyond words, and anyone who hasn’t experienced it may find it challenging to comprehend. Growing up near airports and being close to airplanes has been a surreal experience for us, and it has furthered our fascination with skydiving. Contrary to what most people believe, skydiving is not just an extreme activity; it has a soothing and calming effect on us, and our students have experienced the same. Interestingly, their experience has surpassed their expectations, making it a truly memorable experience.
Most would say that it’s not even all that scary. We understand that skydiving is not for everyone. We also have family members that don’t skydive, to each his own. Those who try a tandem skydive, we would say that 99% are absolutely blown away by the experience. Skydiving is a labor of love for instructors. It’s hard to get that type of connection with your students in anything that you coach or instruct. Traveling the world as instructors, we noticed that many skydiving centers were losing that connection.
Some skydiving centers have multiple locations where the owners can not be present to welcome students. Some of these centers are so commercialized that you feel like you’re just a number. However, skydiving is a labor of love, and in 2012, Gateway Skydiving Center was founded. We have completed thousands of tandem skydives and helped graduate numerous licensed skydivers and instructors while maintaining an outstanding safety record, of which we are very proud. We encourage you to come and check us out, and to live your life to the fullest.
